Project Overview

Problem

In the community, there is a need for students to find information and a community surrounding the topic of mental health.

My group and I created The Silent Struggle, A mental health magazine focused on providing information on counseling and showcasing photography on mental health for a audience of mostly students.

Solution

I refreshed my knowledge on the Hellraiser Franchise by watching the first three installments and the most recent version on Hulu. Furthermore, to get more information on the Chatterer, I looked at the fan wiki to see if there was anything I missed or lore that wasn’t discussed in the movie.

Curating Process

The reason behind the interview is to get an insight into what it looks like when someone struggles with mental illness. Tiffany and River were someones from the group’s internship, and they offered to give the perspective of someone who owns a business and a student in college. We sent off a questionnair in a short paragraph form and created a clean spread of their awnsers. One difficulty we had was fitting the information on the pages in a clean way.

Takeaway

During the project, I learned how to be more collaborative in the design process and share ideas with others. Furthermore, I learned more about the printing process and how to send files and make revisions to the file to make sure the print comes out correctly. At the time of submission, we currently had 85 reads with and avg read time of 2:38 minutes.
